I’ve learned from my many years of experience as an Electronics Engineering Technician in the communications, broadcasting, and manufacturing fields that you have to be extra careful in dealing with powered electronics circuits. My previous job for more than a decade dictated me to build and test a very high-speed high-voltage pulse switching assembly i.e. **100 MHz at 30KV** used in analytical laboratory instruments. No trace of carelessness is allowed when working with these circuits.
In the very early years in my electronics tinkering life, however, I’ve had unpleasant experiences with electronic components that go kaput. Capacitors blowing up, resistors up in smoke, circuit boards catching on fire, a couple of electrical shocks, all caused by carelessness, disrespect and ignorance on my part.
From that time on I made sure that I would not repeat my mistakes. Needless to say, building electronics can be a hazardous experience if you are not careful. You may do so at your own risk! Always pay attention to what you are doing!
But don’t be discouraged, I’m still enjoying building electronic projects up to this day…

Experience and knowledge in soldering is a must in building any of the projects. If you don’t have any experience in soldering, my apologies, you need to learn how to solder first and then practice and then build!!

The PCBs were created using the free **ExpressPCB** software. Although not as powerful compared to other CAD programs, it is free, very easy to use, and you can create your own custom PCB components. I’ve used ExpressPCB’s services in some of my personal projects. However, I do create my own PCBs in most of the projects presented in this website.
The PCB mounting brackets used in the projects are made locally. This company can professionally fabricate any chassis or case design that you may have. Contact us for more information.
